From exotic travel destination to new home: a globetrotter tells her story
She made a name for herself with her film *Reiss aus* and the book of the same name – now, in *Danke, Afrika!*, Lena Wendt embarks on another narrative journey. Her fascination with the African continent led her to visit 25 African countries over the course of 12 years. In early 2020, she found herself stranded in Morocco due to the global pandemic – and found a new home there.
Lena Wendt describes the daily moments of joy on her travels through Africa in a lively and captivating way. However, she does not sugar-coat the reality of life in Africa: her travelogues and diary entries also deal with the unsettling experiences and bizarre encounters that Africa has in store.
