It’s too hot, the weeds are too thick, and life in general is a complete nightmare! Had a strange bird not suddenly appeared in Matteo’s garden on that April day, the old Italian philosopher would still be all alone in the world. But Schopenhauer, as Matteo calls the bald ibis, seems to like him. And he stays. Then Matteo learns that the bird belongs to a breeding centre beyond the Alps. To spend a little more time together, he decides to take Schopenhauer home himself on his racing bike with a trailer. Together they cross northern Italy, conquer high mountains, bathe in mountain streams and camp under the open sky. A friendship grows that gives Matteo something very special: the ability to trust himself and others again…
Warm-hearted, clever, touching – about the joy of having a bald ibis show you the way!
